Websites at Health

Health's websites are created within Aarhus University's common design framework and are part of AU's overall web universe. Here you can see how to apply to have a website created.

Who can get a website?

All employees can contact Health Communication with a request for a website.

Together with you, Health Communication will assess:

  • whether a new website is the best solution
  • what type of website is needed, if any.

What should you consider before applying for a website?

Before contacting Health Communication, you should consider:

  • Who is the target audience for the website?
  • What will the target audience use the site for?
  • What specific needs will the site meet for users?

Also consider whether you have sufficient relevant and user-oriented content. If it is only a few sentences, it is often better to place the content on an existing page.

What types of websites can you get?

The type of website depends on the target group and content.

Often, the best solution will be:

  • a new subpage for an existing page at faculty or department level.

In other cases, there may be a need for a more independent site with a front page and subpages, typically in the form of:

  • a subsite located under, for example, the department's website

In special cases, a completely independent site that is not located under a department site can be created. This may be relevant if, for example:

  • the unit or project does not belong to a department, or
  • there is an equal collaboration between several departments or organisations.

The web team at Health Communication will help you find the solution that suits you best.

Can you use your own logo on the website?

Health supports Aarhus University's brand and visual identity.

The faculty's centres and units must therefore always use AU's:

  • logo
  • seal
  • templates
  • fonts.

In very special cases, exemptions may be granted to allow projects or units to use a special logo. Permission must always be sought from Health Communication.

Read more about the rules for using the logo.

How to do it:

  • Consider the target groups, purpose and content for the website you want to create.
  • Contact the web team at Health Communication at health.webredaktion@au.dk.

The web team:

  • creates new sites at the faculty
  • maintains the departments' external websites
  • maintains internal and external pages at faculty level.
