The project supplement covers various indirect project costs for the university, such as comprehensive administrative research support, research infrastructure, and basic IT infrastructure.
The project supplement replaces overhead, administrative contributions, and bench fees.
The project supplement is calculated based on the following scientific position categories:
Group | Jobtitles | Access to project supplement |
---|---|---|
VIP Group A | Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor | No |
VIP Group B | Ph.D. and Postdoc | Yes |
VIP Group C | Other scientific staff | Yes |
TAP | All technical and administrative staff | No |
Ph.D. students employed under flexible arrangements ('3+5' or '4+4') are eligible for a project supplement equivalent to a 3-year full-time scholarship.
The project supplement is calculated as the number of project-funded full-time equivalents (FTEs) in VIP Groups B and C multiplied by a fixed project allowance rate.
When applying for funds for research projects involving partners other than Danish universities, only project participants employed at Danish universities are eligible for the project allowance.
As of January 1, 2024, the fixed project allowance within health sciences is 250,000 DKK per FTE per year.
The project supplement is adjusted annually for price and wage changes, but the rate specified in the current fund call is used in the budget for the entire project period.
A template has been created to assist with preparing the budget for applications. This template will help in calculating the project supplement.
