For the first time, Health conducted a comprehensive, faculty-wide evaluation of research at the departmental level during the period 2023–2025.
The evaluation provided both leadership and staff with a valuable overview of research quality and identified key areas for development within individual departments as well as across the faculty.
The overall assessment shows that research at Health is generally of high quality, also in an international context, and leading in several areas. A high level of academic expertise among researchers, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and significant success in attracting competitive research funding were highlighted as particular strengths.
Each department was evaluated by an external panel appointed by the department’s leadership. The panels based their assessments on:
The panels visited the departments, interviewed leaders and researchers, and submitted a report with their evaluations and recommendations to the department leadership.
Based on the departmental reports, a comprehensive faculty report has also been prepared. It summarizes cross-cutting focus areas and recommendations for future initiatives at Health (the report will be uploaded to this page once available).
