By 2021 a new procedure has been adopted for initiation of the thesis process at Aarhus University.
The purpose of the procedure is to ensure the formal requirements that are in connection with the Executive Order on Education:
The procedure ensures that the students have the best possible conditions for having an approved thesis statement and thesis contract when the thesis process begins.
However, the formal thesis process starts regardless of whether the student has an approved thesis contract or not.
The director of studies or a general thesis supervisor at the degree program approves both thesis statement and thesis contract.
As a supervisor and director of studies, please pay special attention to the fact that students only have 14 days to agree and approve a changed thesis statement in the event of a second or third examination attempt.
