This is no overstatement. Olesen has been on the national sailing team, and star, soling, and dragon are just some of the boat types he masters. Claus Olesen won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2012 and participated in the Olympics in Athens in 2004 and London in 2012. He was also part of Jesper Bank's – that is, the Jesper Bank – crew during the America's Cup in the early 2000s.
