Time for an update?

Have you taken on new responsibilities, started new research collaborations or started wearing glasses? Then now is the time to update your Pure profile. In week 40, there will be so much help available that your Pure profile will almost fill itself in.

In 2024, the senior management team approved a requirement for both academic and technical/administrative staff at Aarhus University to complete certain information in their Pure profiles. In week 40, you will get all the help you need to complete the task. Photo: AI-generated

Three things you need to know

  1. The senior management team has decided that all AU staff – both academic and technical/administrative staff – must have a completed and up-to-date Pure profile.
  2. Your Pure profile texts must be completed in both Danish and English.
  3. If you are a member of academic staff, you must also register any relevant sideline employment in Pure.

Some tasks are ‘nice to do’, while others are ‘must do’. Completing your Pure profile with descriptive text, a profile photo and contact details is a ‘must do’.

And there is good reason for that. Pure profiles are among the first results to appear when someone Googles the name of an AU staff member. Foundations, collaborators and potential colleagues regularly do just that.

Last year, many of us completed our Pure profiles as part of the faculty-wide initiative: Pure Profile Completion Week. However, 58% of the faculty’s staff still have empty or incomplete Pure profiles, so we are doing another round.

Staff photography, writing assistance and Pure support in week 40

In the final week of September – from 28 September to 2 October – the entire faculty will once again focus on Pure profiles:

  • Staff photography on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 September, 09:00–15:00

    • Have a new portrait photo taken by one of the university’s photographers.
    • Available on both days in ‘Grønnegården’ at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health and in Forum (Entrance A) at Aarhus University Hospital.
    • No appointment necessary – simply drop by. Remember to bring your access card or another form of identification.
  • Pure support on Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 September, 09:00–15:00

    • AU Pure Support will be available alongside the photographer to help you sort out your Scopus ID and ORCID, fix double job titles and other technical issues.
    • You can also contact Pure Support at pure@au.dk.
  • Feedback on your Pure profile text on Thursday 1 October

    • Send your Pure profile text to Communication, Faculty of Health Sciences at health.kommunikation@au.dk by 09:00 on Thursday if you would like feedback and help polishing your text.
    • You will receive the edited text back no later than the same Thursday.

Of course, there is no need to wait. You are very welcome to complete your Pure profile now.

Shortcuts to a completed Pure profile on the website

On the faculty website, you will find ‘fill-in-the-blanks’ templates for all the relevant text fields in your Pure profile.

By using the templates as your starting point, you only need to make a few individual adjustments before your texts are ready to go.

On the same website, you will also find a simple quick guide to uploading text and a photo, as well as instructions on how to edit existing content.

Tick it off your list – complete and update your Pure profile

Using the support available in week 40 is, of course, entirely optional. However, the senior management team at Aarhus University requires AU staff to have a completed and up-to-date Pure profile.

With plenty of help available and a good opportunity to get it done, you can tick this mandatory task off your list with a clear conscience.
