The Inflammation Network invites you to its annual meeting
For the fifth time, Health's Inflammation Network has its annual meeting. This year, the meeting will take place on Thursday 13 March, and anyone interested in inflammation and inflammatory and immunological diseases is welcome to join us for an engaging afternoon of presentations and discussions with leading researchers within the field.

In line with the previous annual meetings of the Inflammation Network, the fifth edition presents an interdisciplinary day that bridges the gap between basic and clinical research on inflammation, immunological disease mechanisms and medical diseases mediated by infection, inflammation or autoimmunity.

The programme features presentations from both AU’s own researchers and invited speakers:
- Herpes encephalitis genetics and pathogenesis by Dr Shen-Ying Zhang, Rockefeller University, New York, USA & Institut Imagine, Paris, France
- Immunomodulating peptides — from basic concepts to therapy by Professor Artur Schmidtchen, Skåne University Hospital & Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, Sweden
- Low-grade inflammation: Fuel to the Fire by Professor Ulla Birgitte Vogel, National Research Centre for the Working Environment & Technical University of Denmark
- Macrophage biomarkers in chronic inflammatory liver diseases by Professor Henning Grønbæk, Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University
- Interferon Gamma Release Assays in Tuberculosis: From Diagnosis to Prognosis by Clinical Associate Professor Andreas Fløe Hvass, Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University.
Vice-dean for Research at Health, Per Höllsberg, and Professor Trine Mogensen, chair of the network, will say a few opening words. Following the welcome, three sessions will feature presentations from invited speakers, open discussion, networking breaks and flash talks from junior researchers. We’ll round off the day with wine and canapés at an informal reception.
The annual meeting is open to anyone with an interest in inflammation and diseases relating to infection, inflammation or autoimmunity in general. While attendance is free, please register in advance to help us with catering arrangements.
