The position of vice-dean for research will be re-advertised
After a new round of interviews in autumn 2023, it is expected that a new vice-dean for research at Health will be able to start on 1 January 2024 at the earliest.
The plan was for a new vice-dean for research to join Health on 1 September. However, the position will be re-advertised in early July.
"The job of vice-dean for research is a key position at the faculty, and we’re re-advertising it because it’s important that we find the right candidate," says Dean Anne-Mette Hvas, who has asked an external recruitment agency to undertake the search process.
Positions are usually re-advertised if a broader field of applicants is required. However, this isn’t necessarily the case here, says Anne-Mette Hvas.
"It just means that we’re looking for a person who, in addition to having a strong research profile, also has a good understanding of the healthcare system, which we work closely with, and who has a strategic eye for developing the research framework for the entire faculty," says the dean.
The current Vice-dean for Research, Hans Erik Bøtker, will be 67 in July and will officially retire on 1 August.
Since the new vice-dean for research will not be able to start before 1 January 2024 at the earliest, the tasks and responsibilities will be shared by the Dean's Office and the Dean's Secretariat, with a little extra help from the department heads.
