Apply for funding for international collaboration

The Circle U. Alliance is offering funding for academic staff and students who dream of starting international collaborative projects. Read more about the Seed Funding Scheme and how to apply here.

Do you have an idea for an international collaborative project? You now have a chance to land funding for development through Circle U.'s Seed Funding Scheme 2023.

Academic staff and students from member universities in the alliance can apply for funding for a wide range of purposes, with the sole condition that the projects include participants from at least three member universities.

For example, you can apply for funding to:

  • launch research projects
  • develop study programmes
  • organise conferences, symposia and workshops
  • prepare large funding applications (e.g. for ERC calls)
  • organise cultural activities.

The aim is to strengthen the alliance and promote bottom-up initiatives by providing an opportunity to develop projects across member universities.

How do I apply?

As the main applicant, you have to be employed as a full-time or part-time academic staff member at one of the Circle U. member universities, and your employment contract has to run throughout the project period.

The total budget for the 2023 application round is EUR 110,000, and you can apply for up to EUR 10,000 per project for employee-run projects and up to EUR 5,000 per project for student-run projects.

Applications can be submitted up to and including 15 October 2023.
