As a clinical physiologist, Jørgen Frøkiær has spent many years researching new diagnostic methods, with a particular focus on kidney perfusion, function, and metabolism. He has also contributed to the development of novel methods to detect specific transport proteins in the kidneys, benefiting patients with conditions that impair kidney function.

According to the Niels A. Lassen Foundation, Jørgen Frøkiær’s research bridges basic science and clinical science, with a particular focus on how congenital kidney diseases can affect kidney function later in life.

"I am deeply honored to receive the Niels A. Lassen Prize, which recognizes the persistent efforts to understand the complexity of kidney function for the benefit of patients. This recognition is shared with many talented colleagues and collaborators who have contributed to the research over the years," said Jørgen Frøkiær.
