The cost reduction plans have now been rolled out
The process of preparing and effectuating the local cost reduction plans at the departments is now complete. At Health, 30 employees have received information on planned redundancy, while 38 have come to an agreement on voluntary resignation. Four employees have also negotiated a senior staff scheme.
At the individual departments and the School for Dental Assistants, Hygienists and Clinical Technicians (SKT), the following has taken place:

In 2014, Health must contribute a total of DKK 21.1 million to the improvement of AU’s finances, though the final budget cutbacks will not be equally noticeable in all departments.
“The overall cost reductions of DKK 21.1 million are evenly distributed in accordance with each department’s size and turnover, but as the departments have had different financial prerequisites and challenges, the final budget cutbacks will be proportionately larger in some places. This is particularly applicable for the Department of Biomedicine and the Department of Dentistry,” says Dean Allan Flyvbjerg.
“It is a difficult time for AU in general and especially for the employees who have received the difficult message that they have been recommended for planned redundancy. But the budget cutbacks are, unfortunately, a task we have been directed to carry out in order to reduce the increasing imbalance between revenues and expenses.“
