Researcher from AU is the new chair of the Committee on General Practice and Family Medicine Research of the Novo Nordisk Foundation

Professor and medical specialist in general practice Mogens Vestergaard from Aarhus University has been chosen as the new chair of the Committee on General Practice and Family Medicine Research of the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Mogens Vestergaard has just become the chair of the Committee on General Practice and Family Medicine Research of the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The new chair is looking forward to working in the committee and he is pleased and proud of his appointment. One of his tasks will be to help the foundation with the selection of the graduates who will help shape the future of general practice research.

"The Foundation’s postdoc grants play a very important part in retaining talented researchers in the general practice research environment,” says Mogens Vestergaard, who is employed at the Department of Public Health, Aarhus University.

Mogens Vestergaard officially took up the chairmanship on 1 January 2015.

The Committee on General Practice and Family Medicine Research awards postdoc grants for research in general practice in Denmark. The focus is on treatment, disease prevention, and basic research in general practice and the administrative organisation of the field. The committee was established in 2002 and consists of a chairman and two other members. Members are appointed by the board of the foundation for a five-year term.
