Neuroscience Day 2026

At Neuroscience Day 2026, you can learn more about the latest advances in neuroscience together with a wide range of Danish and international experts.

This year’s theme is “Cancer Neuroscience”, and the presentations will explore the latest research on brain tumours and the interaction between the brain and cancer. It is a broad and complex topic that spans many different disciplines, so there will be something of interest for most people.

Among the highlights at Neuroscience Day 2026 are:

  • Keynote from Professor Frank Winkler (Heidelberg University), recipient of the Lundbeck Foundation Brain Prize 2025, presenting groundbreaking research on brain tumours and new treatment strategies.
  • Presentation from Professor Bjarne Winther Kristensen (University of Copenhagen) on genomic heterogeneity in glioblastoma – meaning that cancer cells within a tumour are not genetically identical, but instead consist of many different mutations and genetic profiles.
  • Three parallel sessions: inflammation, cancer, and perfusion and barriers, featuring both invited speakers and selected abstracts.

Additionally, there are excellent opportunities for networking throughout the day. You can explore poster presentations from researchers in both neuroscience and oncology, take part in flash talks featuring brief presentations of the latest research, and meet colleagues and potential collaborators over coffee and lunch.

Contribute with your research

If you would like to present your research related to the themes of the three parallel sessions, you are very welcome to submit an abstract via the registration page.
