Have you ever found yourself frozen with indecision in the grocery store, unsure about what is truly healthy to pack in your kids’ lunchboxes?

Are you interested in the science behind prevention and treatment of diabetes?

Do you conduct research on food, nutrition, and health and want to stay up to date with the latest findings?

No matter your motivation, you are invited to the 5th Annual Meeting of The Food and Nutrition Network on April 2nd.

Here you can hear exciting presentations from Danish and international keynote speakers, who talk about highly relevant topics in the broad and fascinating research field of nutrition and health.

You can expand your network or contribute with a flash talk or poster presentation.

Come and share your research

“Unfortunately, not all products from the food industry promote the population’s health,” says the chairpersonof The Food and Nutrition Network, professor and Head of research Niels Jessen.

“But the network brings researchers from both technology and health together with industry, and with a shared agenda, we look at how we can do something good and find solutions,” he points out.

Some of these solutions may come from Professor Anders Rosengren from the University of Gothenburg and Professor Søren Gregersen from the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University, who at the annual meeting will share the latest research on the treatment and prevention of diabetes.

Anja Viendahl Olsen, who is a professor at the Department of Public Health at Aarhus University and senior researcher at the Danish Cancer Society, will make the audience more knowledgeable about the health consequences of ultra-processed foods.

Additionally, Professor and Head of the Center for Innovative Food Research (CiFOOD), Derek V. Byrne, will discuss the promotion of new interdisciplinary synergies in research on food-related behavior, nutrition, and health.

The program also includes flash talks and posters. In particular, PhD students and postdocs are encouraged to submit an abstract upon registration.

Furthermore, both junior and senior researchers will have the chance to meet fundraisers from START – AU Centre for Sustainable Agrifood Systems, who will offer guidance and inspiration for funding applications related to sustainable nutrition and health.
