Novo Scholarship 2014 goes to young Aarhus researcher

Cecilie Kirkeby Skeby from Aarhus University has been awarded the Novo Scholarship 2014. She receives the scholarship from Novo Nordisk and Novozymes in the form of financial support for her further research.

AU is working to establish common guidelines for responsible research practice. The academic council at Health has just discussed the discussion paper from the Talent Development Committee, and here you can find out what a researcher has to say about why the guidelines are so important.

The site has been cleared for the new Biomedicine building

In December the old walls of the Officers’ Building fell to make room for the Department of Biomedicine’s new building. The demolition was captured by a photographer.

Today and tomorrow, Health’s heads of department and SKT’s head will inform all employees about the general consequences of the budget cuts for the relevant department/SKT.

Work on the cost reduction plans will now begin locally

During the course of the week, meetings have been held in Health’s local liaison committees. In the period leading up to 31 January, the specific cost reduction plans will be drawn up. Today and tomorrow the department heads and SKT’s head of school will inform their employees about the overall consequences of the budget cuts.

The Lundbeck Foundation and AU in a new collaboration on research communication

Aarhus University and the Lundbeck Foundation will increase awareness of Danish health research. Therefore, topics such as the human genome, depression, schizophrenia and ADHD will be debated when some of the most talented researchers in Denmark present their research at a series of Lundbeck Foundation Lectures.

The annual PhD Day at Health, the main academic area for the health sciences at Aarhus University, will debate communication.

The Danish Accreditation Council has just approved the degree programme, which starts its first class of students in September 2014.

Denmark gets its first Master’s degree programme for opticians

Opticians can for the first time further their education here in Denmark when Aarhus University establishes the first Master’s degree programme in optometry and vision science this summer. The degree programme, which has just been approved, will give opticians the opportunity to relieve the pressure on ophthalmologists.
